Job summary

AECOM Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an Associate Director – Electrical Engineer to lead medium‑voltage electrical design for utility‑scale wind, solar, BESS and hybrid projects. You will own the technical direction, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver practical, coordinated designs from inverters to grid connection interfaces.

You'll manage design bases, create single‑line diagrams, perform power system studies, and mentor a team of engineers through feasibility to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Strong track record in medium-voltage power-system design.
• Experience leading electrical design for utility-scale wind, solar, BESS.
• Ability to coordinate across disciplines and communicate with clients.
• Proven leadership and ownership of complex design packages.

Responsibilities

• Lead MV balance of plant design for generation/storage projects.
• Develop design bases, diagrams, ratings, cable sizing.
• Build and review PowerFactory models and studies.
• Review transformers and major electrical plant specifications.
• Develop protection philosophies and commissioning plans.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate across interfaces.
