Job summary

Kaliba is seeking an Associate Consultant – Technology in Melbourne to join a fast-growing team. You will learn recruitment from the ground up, work closely with senior recruiters and directors, and develop your own client relationships.

The role offers a strong starting salary of $70,000 plus super and uncapped commissions, with structured training and clear career progression. We’ll teach you how to headhunt, interview and qualify candidates, manage pipelines and write compelling ads.

Kaliba is looking for an Associate Consultant – Technology to join our growing Melbourne team.

We'll teach you recruitment from the ground up.

You'll work directly alongside experienced recruiters and the Directors of the business, learning how to headhunt talent, manage recruitment processes, work with clients and eventually build your own recruitment desk.

We're not looking for someone who already knows recruitment.

We're looking for someone with the raw ingredients to become very good at it.

What will you actually do?

Your first few months will be about learning the recruitment business properly.

We'll teach you how to:

• Find and headhunt high-quality candidates
• Interview and qualify candidates
• Understand different technology companies, markets and roles
• Manage candidate pipelines and recruitment processes
• Write job advertisements and candidate profiles
• Prepare candidates for interviews
• Build relationships with candidates and clients
• Use LinkedIn, recruitment platforms, AI and modern sourcing technology
• Support senior recruiters on major search assignments
• Attend client meetings and learn how we win and manage business
• Develop your own network within the technology industry

As you develop, you'll take on more responsibility, begin running your own vacancies and ultimately develop your own client relationships and recruitment desk.

Who are we looking for?

You don't need recruitment experience.

You might currently work in sales, hospitality, retail, customer service or another people-focused environment.

You might be a recent graduate looking for your first proper career opportunity.

Or you might simply be an ambitious young person who knows you're capable of more and wants an opportunity to prove it.

This isn't a role where you'll remain an "Associate" indefinitely.

Our objective is to develop you into a Recruitment Consultant within 6–12 months, depending on performance.

From there, you can progress into managing your own desk, developing clients and significantly increasing your earning potential.
