InterContinental Sydney is seeking an Assistant Venue Manager – In-Room Dining to lead our 24-hour luxury In-Room Dining operation, ensuring personalised guest service across all times. Reporting to Conservatory Venue Manager and Director of Food & Beverage, you will drive excellence.

This hands-on role requires supervisory experience and a passion for hospitality; previous managerial experience is not essential.

Your Day to Day – Inspire Incredible

As our Assistant Venue Manager – In-Room Dining, you will play a key role in leading the team and overseeing the 24-hour operation, ensuring every guest receives exceptional, personalised service.

Working closely with Conservatory Venue Manager and Director of Food & Beverage, you will:

• Lead and support the In-Room Dining team, fostering a culture of luxury service, teamwork and accountability.




• Oversee operational performance, including delivery times, guest feedback, amenity service and guestroom experience standards.




• Coach and develop team members in service delivery, Forbes standards and upselling techniques.




• Manage the execution and presentation of amenities and VIP guest experiences.




• Oversee order flow, team productivity, rostering and stock control.




• Collaborate with the kitchen, Front Office and Housekeeping teams to ensure seamless daily operations.




• Respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining the highest standards of care and discretion.




• Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and the overall guest experience.

This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their hospitality career. Previous managerial experience is not essential – we are looking for a passionate and capable hospitality professional with supervisory experience, a strong service mindset and the ambition to grow into a management role. You will be supported and mentored by experienced senior leaders as you develop your skills.

What You Will Bring

You will be a confident and service-driven hospitality professional with a passion for leading teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will also have:

• Previous experience in Food & Beverage, ideally within a hotel or luxury hospitality environment.




• Supervisory experience, with the ambition and capability to step into an Assistant Venue Manager role. Previous managerial experience is not required.




• A genuine passion for guest service and creating memorable, personalised experiences.




• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across departments.




• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.




• A strong understanding of service standards, operational procedures and guest satisfaction.




• Flexibility to work across a 24‑hour operation, including weekends and public holidays.
