Job summary

InterContinental Sydney | Overnight Operations is seeking an experienced Assistant Night Manager to join the overnight leadership team at our 509‑room luxury hotel in Circular Quay, Sydney. You will supervise Front Office colleagues, manage overnight operations, and ensure guest experiences meet five‑star standards.

Responsibilities include leading the night team, handling guest requests and escalations, performing night audit procedures, and coordinating safety and security.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in hotel Front Office operations, with previous supervisory or management experience.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and support a team while maintaining exceptional service standards.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to engage professionally with international guests, VIPs and colleagues.
• Immaculate personal presentation and professionalism, reflecting the standards of a five-star luxury hotel.
• A calm, confident and approachable manner, with the ability to manage challenging situations and make sound decisions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to resolving guest concerns.
• Experience using hotel Property Management Systems and a sound understanding of night audit procedures.
• A proactive, collaborative approach to working with colleagues across the hotel.
• Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Unrestricted Australian working rights

Our team is growing and we're looking for an experienced and confident Assistant Night Manager to join our overnight leadership team.

Working alongside our Night Manager and Assistant Night Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing the smooth running of our 509-room hotel overnight, leading our Front Office colleagues and ensuring every guest receives the exceptional service expected of InterContinental Sydney.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, making decisions and managing the varied challenges of hotel operations, while creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Your Day to Day - Inspire Incredible

• Joining our current night leadership team in overseeing hotel operations overnight, working closely with Culinary, Food and Beverage, Security and other operational departments.

• Lead, coach and support our overnight Front Office team, maintaining high standards of service, presentation and performance.

• Take ownership of guest requests, complaints and escalated matters, resolving issues promptly, professionally and with discretion.

• Deliver personalised guest experiences, including for VIPs and high-profile guests.

• Oversee overnight arrivals, departures and guest services, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.

• Complete night audit procedures, ensuring accurate financial transactions, reconciliations and reporting.

• Monitor hotel safety and security, conduct property checks and coordinate responses to incidents or emergencies.

• Make sound operational decisions, escalating significant matters appropriately.
