Job summary

Royal Stacks Burger in Melbourne is seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Venue Manager to join our Moorabbin team with a view to leading future venues.

You’ll work with the leadership group, receive structured training, and develop to Venue Manager and potentially Area Manager as the brand expands.

This role demands ownership, strong hospitality leadership, and the ability to drive service, cost control and team development on a busy, high-volume site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager, Supervisor or similar.
• Experience leading a busy hospitality team.
• Strong communication and people-management skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• The ability to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure.
• Strong understanding of labour, stock and operational costs.
• Hands-on approach — jump on the floor when needed.

Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating the venue team during service.
• Maintaining exceptional food, service, cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and development of staff.

• Rostering and managing labour to budget.
• Monitoring sales, labour, food costs, wastage and overall venue performance.
• Managing stock, ordering and inventory control.
• Ensuring food safety, OH&S and company procedures are followed.
• Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally.
• Managing opening and closing procedures.
• Coordinating maintenance and ensuring the venue is always operating at a high standard.
• Reviewing daily/weekly performance and identifying opportunities to improve the business.
• Working closely with the owners on operational and commercial targets.

Royal Stacks is growing, and we're looking for an experienced, driven and hands-on Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team.

This is more than a traditional hospitality management role. We're building a strong leadership structure across our Moorabbin and upcoming second venues, with the opportunity for the right person to grow into aVenue Manager and potentially Area Manageras the business continues to expand.

The Opportunity

We're looking for someone who wants to take ownership.

You will initially join the Moorabbin team, working closely with our existing leadership team and receiving structured training across the business. The goal is for you to develop the skills, confidence and operational knowledge required to eventually take responsibility for our second venue, which is planned to open under our management in November/December.

You'll be expected to become someone we can trust to run a venue — not someone who needs to be told what to do every step of the way.

What You'll Be Responsible For

What We're Looking For

with a hospitality title. You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager, Supervisor or similar
• Experience leading a busy hospitality team
• Strong communication and people-management skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• The ability to remain calm and make good decisions under pressure
• A strong understanding of labour, stock and operational costs
• A hands-on approach — you're willing to jump on the floor when the team needs you
• Strong accountability and follow-through
• A proactive mindset — you see problems and solve them rather than waiting to be asked
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy trading periods

Quick-service restaurant or high-volume hospitality experience will be highly regarded. Most importantly...

We're looking for someone who wants to grow with the business. The ideal candidate will eventually be capable of independently leading a venue, developing their own team and taking responsibility for the venue’s operational and financial performance.

As we continue to grow, there is potential for progression into: Assistant Venue Manager → Venue Manager → Area Manager
