HDI Global SE in Melbourne is seeking an Assistant Underwriter to join the Property team. You will work with experienced underwriters on mid‑market and corporate property risks, learning underwriting techniques, pricing, and file management.

You will develop technical skills through active involvement in renewals, pricing, and broker management while growing relationships with clients and brokers in a collaborative, global insurer environment.

Formación

• Experience in General Insurance or Property Insurance.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical capability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proactive, curious and commercially minded.
• ANZIIF studies (completed or underway).
• Permanent working rights in Australia.

The Opportunity

Based in our Melbourne CBD office, you'll play a key role supporting our market‑leading Property team across a portfolio of Mid‑Market and Large Corporate accounts. You'll work directly with experienced underwriters, gain exposure to complex property risks, and develop the technical expertise required for a successful underwriting career.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the underwriting team with renewals, new business and portfolio management.
• Assisting with premium calculations, technical pricing and reinsurance processing.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in General Insurance, Property Insurance or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional numerical capability.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, curious and commercially minded approach.
• ANZIIF studies (completed or underway) will be highly regarded.
• Permanent working rights in Australia.
