Job summary

Amida Group is currently seeking an Assistant Site Manager / Leading Hand to join our professional team working on commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects up to $10m+. You will support the Site Manager, coordinate day-to-day delivery, ensure work complies with drawings, specs and timeframes, and lead on-site carpentry tasks where relevant.

Ideal candidates will have a trade or building background, 2–5+ years in site supervision, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Trade or building qualification required.
• 2 to 5+ years’ site supervision experience including planning and managing onsite staff.
• Construction Safety Induction (White) card.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Desirable – Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Knowledge of building laws and standards.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite HSE and quality inductions with all onsite staff / subcontractors
• Complete daily site diary entries
• Review and manage key project issues
• Liaise with statutory bodies ensuring notifications are made
• Ensure site compound and amenities are established and maintained
• Organise all site inspections with clients, authorities and consultants
• Assist Site Manager and Project Manager with preparing scopes of work
• Understand head and subcontractor contracts, especially in relation to timeframes
• Produce and manage defect lists for subcontractors prior to finishing works

Projects are usually from smaller up to $15m+

You will be responsible for the daily delivery of high quality and on-time construction projects, ensuring that the projects are completed to documented drawings, specifications and nominated timeframes.

• Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sites
• Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with Procore of Buildpass would be ideal
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
