Job summary

Amida Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager or Leading Hand to join a prestigious high-end fit-out contractor delivering commercial projects in Sydney. You will support the Site Manager, overseeing daily site operations, safety, and quality on projects up to $15 million, with Procore/Buildpass experience preferred.

The role requires a trade or building qualification, 2–5+ years of site supervision, strong communication, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• Trade or building qualification is required.
• 2–5+ years of site supervision experience on construction projects.
• Construction Safety Induction (White) card is required.
• Senior First Aid Certificate is required.
• Desirable – Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Solid knowledge of building legislation and standards.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Procore or Buildpass is advantageous.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite HSE and quality inductions for staff and subcontractors.
• Complete daily site diary entries and record keeping.
• Review and manage key project issues to keep on schedule.
• Liaise with statutory bodies for notifications and approvals.
• Ensure site compound and amenities are established and maintained.
• Organise site inspections with clients, authorities and consultants.
• Assist Site Manager and Project Manager with scopes of work.
• Understand contracts with head and subcontractors, especially timeframes.
• Produce and manage defect lists for subcontractors before finishing works.

A market leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, they are now seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager, Assistant Site Supervisor or Leading Hand to join their professional team.

Offering a range of services to their high-end clients, the company specialises in fit-out and refurb of Corporate Office, Health, Education, Government, Hotels, Hospitality and Leisure sector projects.

Projects are usually from smaller up to $15m+.

You will be responsible for the daily delivery of high quality and on-time construction projects, ensuring that the projects are completed to documented drawings, specifications and nominated timeframes.

You will be supporting the Site Manager in the safe and efficient day-to-day delivery of fitout and construction works ideally from a trade / carpentry background. Any experience in Procore and Buildpass would be a benefit.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Trade or building related qualification
• 2 to 5+ years’ experience in site supervision of construction projects including planning, programming and management of onsite staff / subcontractors
• Construction Safety Induction (White) card
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Desirable – Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety
• Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sites
• Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with Procore or Buildpass would be ideal
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
