Job summary

InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead Shutters Restaurant & Bar operations, in-room dining, and the new pool bar. You will work with the Restaurant Manager to coach the team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and drive service excellence across all venues.

The role requires 1–2 years of leadership in fine dining, strong F&B knowledge, and a guest-centric approach. Local work rights are required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years leadership in high-end or fine dining.
• Full work rights in Australia; sponsorship not available.
• Strong understanding of food and beverage operations.
• Confident, collaborative leadership style to motivate a team.
• Guest-focused personality with exceptional hospitality.
• Calm under pressure with problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in POS systems and restaurant software.
• Sound knowledge of wine and cocktails (WSET Level 2 desirable).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Restaurant Manager in leading, training, and mentoring the team to uphold service excellence.
• Deliver warm, personalised guest experiences from arrival to departure.
• Build relationships with regular guests and the community to drive loyalty.
• Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards and internal policies.
• Assist rostering, inventory management, and cost control for efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to upsell products and experiences.
• Foster continuous improvement and high presentation standards.
