Job summary

RPS is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Brisbane to support planning, stakeholder engagement and procurement across social infrastructure and defence sectors. Youll collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors through design and construction phases, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Experience in project management and a background in related fields is valued, with hybrid work and development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of demonstrated project management or construction project experience.
• Professional qualifications in project management, architecture, engineering or construction management.
• Understanding of different forms of construction contracts and contract administration is a plus.
• Good client and stakeholder management with strong written reporting skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; MS Project is desirable.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning from initiation through delivery and closeout.
• Engage with clients, consultants and contractors throughout the lifecycle.
• Assist with procurement, design and construction phases as required.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure milestones and quality requirements are met.

Job description

We’re on the lookout for a client-side Assistant Project Manager with experience in social infrastructure (including education, health, housing, sports), Aviation and Defence sectors to join our dynamic team in Brisbane. At RPS, you won’t just manage projects—you’ll help shape communities, influence outcomes, and lead critical government and private sector initiatives. You’ll work closely with clients, consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle supporting project planning, stakeholder engagement, procurement, design and construction phases.

What You’ll Bring

• 1 - 2+ years of demonstrated recent project management, construction project experience with client project experience desirable.
• Professional qualifications in project management, architectural, engineering, construction management or similar.
• Not mandatory, an understanding of different forms of construction contracts and contract administration experience
• Good client and stakeholder management
• Well-developed spoken and reporting / writing skills with strong competence in computer software including the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with Microsoft Project desirable.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
