Job summary

RPS, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a client-side Project Manager to lead infrastructure and capital projects in Defence/government sectors from our Townsville base. You will work within a high-performing team delivering large, complex programs with hybrid work arrangements.

Your background includes a tertiary qualification in relevant fields, strong delivery methodologies, and experience with Defence or government projects. Australian citizenship and Baseline Security Clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management, Property, Engineering or similar are desirable.
• Strong delivery methodology experience: Head Contractor, Managing Contractor, Design and Construct preferred.
• Experience on Defence capital projects and Defence writing skills are advantageous.
• Experience in Contract and Claims Administration.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead projects and grow relationships.
• Baseline Security Clearance or ability to obtain; Australian citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-side Project Manager activities delivering infrastructure and capital projects in Defence/government sectors.
• Oversee projects, teams and multiple tasks with strategic, proactive thinking; manage stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure alignment with Defence delivery procedures and Commonwealth Procurement Rules; liaise with contracting authorities.

Project Manager

Due to exceptional growth and success, the RPS Project Management team are seeking a motivated and qualified client-side Project Manager who has previous experience in successfully delivering infrastructure and capital projects within the Defence or government sectors.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Building and Construction, Infrastructure, Contract Management and Contract Administration, Government Approvals, Property Management and similar. This position is based in Townsville, with a high performing team, who is a market leader in project management and who specialise in the delivery of large complex projects.

About you

• A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Property, Engineering, or similar is desirable.
• Strong understanding and proven experience with a range of delivery methodologies, in particular, Head Contractor, Managing Contractor and Design and Construct is preferable;
• Previous experience across Defence capital projects, including Defence writing skills;
• Previous experience in Contract and Claims Administration;
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, teams and manage and grow business relationships;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner;
• Proactive and able to think strategically;
• Australian Citizen and able to successfully obtain and maintain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
• 10+ years client-side PM or a PMCA in the industries as mentioned above and familiarity with Defence delivery procedures including Commonwealth Procurement Rules (would be preferable, but not essential)
• AIPM Accreditation or equivalent would be advantageous.
