Job summary

RPS is seeking a client-side Project Manager in Cairns to work on Defence, Education, Government and Health projects, helping shape communities and deliver outcomes for government and private sector clients. Job description

We’re looking for a client-side Project Manager with experience in Defence, Education, Government, Health, or a related field to join our team in Cairns. At RPS, you’ll be part of work that really matters — helping shape communities, influence outcomes, and contribute to important government and private sector projects.

If you have a background in building and construction, infrastructure, contract management or administration, government approvals, or something similar, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll be joining a high-performing team that’s known for delivering large, complex projects and making a real impact.

What You’ll Bring

• 4+ years of demonstrated recent construction project experience with Education, Government, Health or Defence sectors with client project experience desirable.
• Professional qualifications in project management, architectural, engineering, construction management or similar.
• A good understanding and proven experience in managing construction contracts and contract administration, with managing contractor contract experience is highly desirable.
• Good client and stakeholder management, as well as leadership skills.
• Well-developed spoken and reporting/ writing skills with strong competence in computer software including the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with Microsoft Project desirable.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
• Completed construction site health and safety course.
• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification or equivalent would be viewed favourably.
