Babcock Australasia is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to join the Collins Sustainment Program in Woodville North, SA. You will support the day-to-day delivery of projects, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure safety, scope, schedule, budget, risk and quality requirements are met.

You will develop financial and schedule estimates, coordinate reporting, engage with stakeholders, shape scope, support client meetings, and contribute to risk management, forecasting and change

Qualifications

• Citizenship with Defence Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Project Management Qualification required.
• Working knowledge of project management competencies.
• Trade or Mechanical background highly desirable or similar discipline.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day delivery of Projects within the Collins Sustainment Program.
• Plan, monitor and control work packages and develop financial and schedule estimates.
• Coordinate reporting and engage with key stakeholders across the program.
• Help shape project scope and requirements and support client meetings.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to risk management, forecasting and change control.

About the Role

Babcock is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join one of our flagship Defence programs, supporting the sustainment of the Collins Class Submarine fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant capability while working in our brand‑new, purpose‑built facility in Woodville North.

In this role, you’ll support the day‑to‑day delivery of projects within the Collins Sustainment Program, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure safety, scope, schedule, budget, risk and quality requirements are met. You’ll be involved in planning, monitoring and controlling work packages, developing accurate financial and schedule estimates, coordinating reporting, and engaging with key stakeholders across the program.

You’ll also help shape project scope and requirements, support client meetings, maintain project documentation, and contribute to risk management, forecasting and change control processes. This role offers the chance to build strong project management capability within a complex Defence environment, with guidance and support as you grow your expertise.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Australian Citizenship with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
