Job summary

St Columba's Catholic College Springwood is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal to join our faith-filled teaching community on a permanent full-time basis. The role focuses on leading learning, wellbeing and faith formation within a historic Blue Mountains campus.

The successful applicant will work with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to drive excellent student outcomes, strong Catholic culture and whole-school improvement across Years 7–12.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective relationships across the school community, leading and inspiring others through a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and mission of the Church.
• Evidence of strong pedagogical leadership, including deep knowledge of curriculum, contemporary approaches to learning and a proven ability to improve student outcomes.
• Evidence of successfully leading and developing teams to improve teaching practice, build collective efficacy and enhance student outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in fostering a culture of wellbeing, inclusion and belonging for students and staff while building strong partnerships with families and the wider community.
• Proven ability to contribute strategically as a member of a leadership team, leading improvement initiatives through evidence-informed decision-making and effective change management.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning, faith formation and leadership development, and the capacity to inspire others in these areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning practices that improve student outcomes.
• Foster a strong Catholic culture and promote the mission and values of Catholic education.
• Build the capacity of staff through coaching, mentoring and professional learning.
• Champion student wellbeing, inclusion and engagement across the College.
• Develop positive partnerships with students, families and the wider community.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to achieve school and system priorities.
• Support strategic improvement initiatives through evidence-informed leadership and decision-making.
