Job summary

Elysium Manly is seeking an Assistant Night Manager to support the overnight operation and ensure exceptional guest experiences, safety and seamless service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of night audit experience in hotel or serviced apartments.
• Hospitality qualifications and Fire Warden experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and Opera.
• Excellent spoken and written English with professional presentation.
• Willingness to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Current RSA certificate is essential.
• Valid Australian Working Rights / Visa is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Night Manager with the night audit process and duties.
• Perform routine checks on network and system audit controls.
• Investigate security breaches and notify authorities as required.
• Handle disruptive guests and arrange discreet removal if needed.
• Act for other departments in night operations when managers are absent.
• Address guest complaints promptly and follow up to resolve.
• Monitor occupancy to maximise yield and maintain guest history.
• Deliver thorough handovers to the next Assistant Manager.
• Apply fire procedures and take control during a fire event.
• Lead and develop the Night Audit team in line with brand standards.
• Support new team member induction and training requirements.
• Ensure accurate billing, banking and cash handling, supporting Finance.
• Deliver friendly, professional, and respectful service as an Elysium ambassador.

As an Assistant Night Manager, you will support the smooth overnight operation of Elysium Manly, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, safety and seamless service.

Main responsibilities:

• Assist the Night Manager with the night audit process, and conduct Night Auditor duties while on shift.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on network and system audit controls.
• Investigate security breaches, completing the relevant forms and notifying authorities via the correct process.
• Handle disruptive guests, arranging discreet removal from the property if needed.
• Act on behalf of other departments in the absence of their managers during night operations.
• Handle guest complaints promptly, following up to resolve the issue.
• Monitor occupancy to maximise yield, and maintain accurate guest history.
• Carry out a complete handover to the next Assistant Manager.
• Apply full knowledge of fire procedures, taking control in the event of a fire.
• Lead and support the Night Audit team’s performance, training and development in line with Elysium brand and service standards.
• Support new team member induction, presentation standards and completion of mandatory Elysium training.
• Ensure accurate billing, banking and financial transactions, maintaining secure cash - handling and supporting Finance requirements.
• Deliver friendly, professional and respectful service, acting as an Elysium ambassador at all times.

Your experience and skills include:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant Night Audit experience in a hotel or serviced apartments environment.
• Hospitality qualifications and Fire Warden experience is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office and Opera.
• Strong communication skills with confident spoken and written English.
• Excellent presentation and a warm, welcoming personality.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is essential.
• Valid Australian Working Rights / Visa is essential.
