Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking an Assistant Manager for Mt Pleasant Tavern in Mackay to lead a fast-paced floor operation across the pub, bistro and gaming spaces. You’ll join a team of several AMs sharing shifts and driving service standards.

You bring hospitality experience, supervisory capability, and the confidence to represent the venue when the Publican is away; RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising teams in bar, bistro or gaming spaces.
• Proven ability to lead and drive service standards.
• Current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead floor operations across pub, dining and gaming spaces.
• Share shift load with other Assistant Managers and support the Publican.
• Maintain safety, vibes, and smooth running of service.
• Respond to hiccups quickly and maintain high standards.
• Engage with locals and represent the venue when leadership is away.

About the Role

Assistant Manager | Mt Pleasant Tavern

Are you a hospitality professional ready to run the floor at one of Mackay’s most dynamic, high-tempo venues? The Mt Pleasant Tavern is looking for a driven Assistant Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels in a team-led management structure.

We skip the traditional isolated Duty Manager model, instead, our venue is powered by a team of multiple Assistant Managers. You’ll work alongside a strong group of peers to share shift load, collaborate on floor strategy, and drive standards together. Whether steering a busy weekend dining service in the bistro, orchestrating game-day trade in the sports bar, or managing gaming floor operations, you’ll be right in the heart of the action with total floor-level support.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
