Job summary

Edge Hill Tavern, part of Endeavour Group, is seeking an Assistant Manager to run the floor at a high-volume Tropical North Queensland venue. You will lead a large team, maintain elite hospitality standards, and ensure a vibrant, safe, and smooth operation across busy dinner, game, and live event periods.

You should have hands-on hospitality experience, leadership capabilities, and current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager licences as required by Queensland state law.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requires physical tasks (lifting, moving stock) as part of regular duties.
• Supervisory experience or prior leadership responsibilities preferred.
• RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager Licence required per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Know the locals and integrate with the crew to build rapport.
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of hospo legends.
• Handle hiccups before they become headaches and keep service seamless.
• Bring energy, service, and smiles on every shift.

Are you a hospitality professional ready to run the floor at one of the most vibrant, high-volume venues in Tropical North Queensland? The Edge Hill Tavern is looking for a driven, floor-owning Assistant Manager who thrives under the pressure of a fast-moving trade and knows how to keep a large crew moving in perfect sync.

"The Edge Hill" is a buzzing community powerhouse. Whether it's a packed weekend dinner rush in the family bistro, a lively crowd catching the game or live music in the sports bar, or managing our gaming operations, this venue requires a leader who loves being right at the center of the action. We need someone with sharp operational instincts who can maintain elite standards and ensure our tight-knit community of regulars receives gold-class hospitality on every shift.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you're part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
