Job summary

G’day Group is seeking an experienced hospitality professional to step into an Assistant Manager role at Lake Hume Discovery Park. You will work closely with the Park Manager to oversee daily operations, guest services and team performance at a beautiful lakeside setting.

You will lead by example, coach staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with the wider G’day Group network to deliver memorable guest experiences and drive park performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hospitality, accommodation or caravan park operations.
• Strong people leadership skills, with a focus on training, development and creating a positive team culture.
• Sound financial understanding, with experience assisting with budgets, revenue and cost control.
• Tech savvy, with experience using RMS, Newbook or similar reservations systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine customer-first approach and passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to assist across all areas of the park.
• Ability to confidently lead operations in the Manager’s absence.
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and after-hours when required.

• Build positive relationships with guests, local businesses, the community and key stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with the wider G’day Group network, including nearby Discovery Parks, to share resources, knowledge and support where required.
• Assist across the park as needed, taking a hands‑on approach to ensuring the property operates to a high standard.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to step into an Assistant Manager role at a beautiful, close-knit holiday park on the shores of Lake Hume.

Working closely with the Park Manager, you’ll play an integral role in the day-to-day running of the property, supporting the team, looking after guests and ensuring operations run smoothly. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and is ready to step up and take ownership when required.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
