ALH Hotels is seeking an Assistant Manager to help keep Hyde Park buzzing and loved by locals. The role involves hands-on leadership, ensuring smooth and safe pub operations, and delivering great vibes across shifts.

You will support the Publican, manage a team of hospitality staff, and learn the Publican role while handling hiccups and maintaining high guest energy. RSA and Approved Managers Card are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role with physical tasks including lifting and moving stock.
• Experience supervising staff in bar/bistro environments preferred.
• Ability to engage with locals and represent the pub when the manager is away.

Responsibilities

• Know the locals and be the face of the pub when the boss is away.
• Support the Publican to run the pub smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of hospo staff.
• Handle hiccups before they become headaches; keep shifts energetic and welcoming.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Hyde Parkbuzzing and loved by the locals.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar and bistro room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and Approved Managers Card as per state requirements
