Job summary

Endeavour Group is seeking an Assistant Manager for Chermside Tavern in Queensland. You’ll be a hands‑on leader on the floor, supporting the Publican to run busy lunch and dinner services, supervise a team across bar, bistro and gaming room, and maintain a great vibe for regulars and visitors alike.

You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment, collaborate with fellow venue leaders, and bring energy, exceptional service, and a can‑do attitude to every shift.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership required in a high‑tempo hospitality venue.
• Ability to supervise and mentor a dynamic crew.
• Experience in bar, bistro or gaming room operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead peak shifts and coordinate on‑floor operations.
• Partner with other venue leaders to deliver consistent guest experiences.
• Mentor and develop hospitality team members.
• Manage exceptions and resolve issues to maintain service quality.
• Represent the pub during the manager on duty shifts.

About the Role

Assistant Manager | Chermside Tavern

If you are a hands‑on manager who thrives in the center of a bustling, high‑foot‑traffic venue, the Chermside Tavern offers a dynamic, fast‑paced stage for your leadership skills. From busy lunch and dinner rushes powered by shoppers and moviegoers to high‑energy sports bar trade and high‑touch service in our gaming room, no two days here are ever the same.

You won't be working in isolation, our management structure relies on a collaborative group of Assistant Managers working together on the floor. You’ll partner directly with fellow venue leaders to run peak shifts, mentor our energetic hospitality crew, coordinate cross‑departmental operations, and deliver an outstanding experience for our regular guests and visitors alike.

A day in the life of an Assistant Manager:

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent requirements:

• This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About you:

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
