Job summary

Clean Energy Regulator in Canberra is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead AI technical implementation, shaping governance, architecture, and the deployment of AI solutions across the Agency.

You will oversee the design, build, deployment and optimisation of AI capabilities, manage high-level stakeholder relationships, provide training, and support the Chief AI Officer in delivering strategic leadership for sustainable innovation.

Qualifications

• Ability to design, configure, and deploy Copilot agents tailored to business needs (e.g., summarisation, document drafting, decision support).
• Practical experience with generative AI models, prompting, and usage of enterprise-scale AI applications.
• Certifications in Azure-related skills (e.g., Azure AI Engineer or similar) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, build, deployment, and optimisation of AI solutions across the Agency, providing technical leadership and pilot support.
• Design end-to-end AI-based solutions for business needs from concept to implementation.
• Manage high-level stakeholder relationships across business areas and with senior executives, policy makers, and external partners.
• Apply governance frameworks and deployment methodologies to ensure model integrity, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Deliver training and communities of practice to uplift AI literacy and support business analysis of AI use cases.
