Job summary

The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) seeks an Assistant Manager - AI Technology Implementation in Canberra to lead design, deployment, and governance of AI solutions that are secure, scalable and aligned with CER architecture.

You will oversee two teams (AI Technical Capability Development and AI Adoption), driving responsible AI, risk management, and strategic outcomes for the agency. The role also involves coordinating pilots, preparing user guides, and engaging senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology, or engineering.
Experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML systems in enterprise environments.
Experience with generative AI and enterprise-scale AI applications.

Responsibilities

Oversee design, build, deployment and optimisation of AI solutions across the Agency, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT architecture and data governance frameworks.
Provide technical leadership and support for pilot programs, including logistics coordination and user guides.
Design end-to-end AI-based solutions from concept through implementation, ensuring responsible AI practices.
Manage and influence high-level stakeholder relationships with senior executives, policy makers and external partners.
Apply robust AI governance frameworks and deployment methodologies to ensure model integrity and compliance.
Maintain technical documentation, update system registers, and create architectural artefacts.
Deliver training and support communities of practice to uplift AI literacy across the workforce.
