Job summary

Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is seeking an Assistant Director to lead a team, model leadership behaviours and drive data and AI capability across the agency. The role encompasses coaching, policy drafting and strategic input to major initiatives.

You will develop data/AI policies, present to boards, and help shape how data is governed across the organisation, with flexible and inclusive working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a project team in a large, complex, people-centred organisation.
• Experience in data/AI governance and/or management.
• Ability to think strategically, research, investigate and analyse complex issues to develop solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly in different forums and build internal/external networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of professionals, role modelling leadership behaviours and maintaining a collaborative environment.
• Draft data and AI policies, procedures and guidance material and related communications.
• Draft and present papers to internal decision-making and advisory bodies.
• Provide strategic input into data/AI projects across the organisation.
