Job summary

Compas in Canberra is seeking an AI Governance and Assurance Adviser to support the safe and responsible adoption of AI-enabled capabilities through governance, assurance and TEVV. The role is full-time onsite at Symonston.

Responsibilities include developing AI governance artefacts, reviewing policies, and coordinating with stakeholders across government and industry to provide risk-informed advice to senior decision-makers. NV1 clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years' experience developing, managing, assuring, testing, evaluating or governing AI/ML or advanced tech solutions.
  • Experience applying AI governance, risk management, security, privacy or ethics frameworks.
  • Ability to assess AI/ML technical evidence, performance claims, assumptions and risks.
  • Relevant STEM qualification or equivalent professional experience with strong technical advisory capability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review AI governance artefacts, including AI Use Cases, System Cards and Model Cards.
  • Support AI TEVV activities by assessing AI-enabled systems, evidence, performance claims, limitations and risks.
  • Review AI policies, technical papers and proposals and provide evidence-based, risk-informed advice to senior decision-makers.
  • Coordinate with technical, operational, government, industry and academic stakeholders on AI assurance and evaluation activities.
