Job summary

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is seeking an Assistant Manager for headspace Sale, a part-time (0.8 EFT) role through to June 2027. You will support service delivery for young people, staff performance, and day-to-day operations, with responsibilities for policy and tender inputs.

Base salary ranges from AUD 130,937 to AUD 134,628 pro-rata per annum, with generous benefits and opportunities for professional development. You may be required to cover Centre Manager duties during absences.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Science, etc., with demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills for diverse internal and external partners.
• Sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making to support effective service delivery and improvement.
• Current Victorian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle; commitment to working with young people.

About headspace

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services. Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Sale which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV.

About the role

Reporting to the Centre Manager, headspace Bairnsdale and headspace Sale, the Assistant Manager supports the effective operation and service delivery of both Centres. This involves supporting staff performance and development, day-to-day operations and stakeholder engagement, with responsibility for contributing to high-quality, integrated and outcomes-focused services that meet the needs of young people. The role will also act as Centre Manager during periods of absence and contribute to policy development and tender applications.

This role is located at headspace Sale and is part-time temporary role (0.8EFT) until June 2027, working four (4) days per week. The base salary range is $130,937 - $134,628 (pro-rata) per annum.

About you

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Science etc, and demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, with strong people management and change management skills.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to support effective service delivery, innovation and continuous improvement.
• A current Victorian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle, with a commitment to working with young people and contributing to positive outcomes for the community.
