Job summary

Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety in Cannonvale, QLD, is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager / 2IC for our new Whitsunday Plaza store. This permanent part-time role offers approximately 30–32 hours per week across a rotating roster.

You will work with the Store Manager, take responsibility when they’re away, and help drive sales, customer service, stock replenishment and store presentation. Experience in retail leadership, reliability, and the ability to lead a team on a rotating roster

Qualifications

• Experienced in retail with supervisory or management experience.
• Demonstrated customer service excellence and reliability.
• Ability to manage stock and POS operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and product advice.

Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety Airlie Beach is looking for an experienced and reliable Assistant Store Manager / 2IC to join our team at our new store in Whitsunday Plaza.

This is a permanent part-time position offering approximately 30–32 hours per week across a rotating roster.

We're looking for someone who can work alongside our Store Manager but is equally comfortable taking responsibility for the store when the Manager isn't there.

About the role

You’ll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the store, including:

• Providing excellent customer service and product advice

• Taking responsibility for the store when the Store Manager is away

• Opening and closing the store

• Supporting and supervising team members

• Driving sales and maintaining high presentation standards

• Merchandising and stock replenishment

• Receiving and processing stock

• POS, cash handling and general store administration

• Helping maintain a well-organised and efficient store

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in retail, ideally with previous supervisory, keyholder or management experience

• Reliable and comfortable taking responsibility

• Confident working independently and making decisions

• Friendly, approachable and good with customers

• Organised and able to keep on top of multiple tasks

• Comfortable leading and supporting other team members

• Available across a seven-day retail roster, including some late-night and weekend work

Experience in workwear, footwear or safety products would be an advantage, but isn’t essential. We’re more interested in finding the right person with strong retail, customer service and leadership skills.

The role would suit an experienced Assistant Manager or retail supervisor, as well as someone currently working in retail who is ready to take on more responsibility and take the next step in their career.
