Job summary

Christadelphian Aged Care is seeking dedicated Assistants in Nursing (Casual) to join our facilities in Gladesville and North Parramatta NSW. You will work alongside registered nurses to deliver compassionate personal care and support to our elderly residents.

This casual role offers flexible hours, a supportive team, opportunities for training, and alignment with aged care standards to maintain dignity and wellbeing for residents while upholding privacy and infection-control practices.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
• Valid NDIS worker checks and National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Compassion, patience and genuine commitment to providing quality aged care.
• Physical capability to assist with personal care and mobility support.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy at all times.
• Flexibility to work casual hours as required, including potential weekend and evening shifts.
• Experience in aged care or a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards in aged care environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses in providing personal care to residents.
• Support residents with mobility and transferring.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for residents.
• Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance where required.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting dignity and respect at all times.
• Assist with simple wound care and other nursing tasks under the direction of registered nurses.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and resident observations.
• Follow all aged care regulations, policies and procedures to ensure resident safety and compliance.

About the role

Christadelphian Aged Care is seeking dedicated Assistants in Nursing (Casual) to join our aged care facilities in Gladesville and/or North Parramatta NSW. We have casual positions that offer flexibility whilst providing essential support to our nursing team and residents. As an Assistant in Nursing, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate care and support to our elderly residents, working alongside registered nurses to ensure the highest standards of aged care are maintained. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of life and wellbeing of our residents in a supportive and respectful care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses in providing personal care to residents, including bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing
• Support residents with mobility and transferring, using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment
• Monitor and report changes in residents' condition, behaviour or wellbeing to nursing staff
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for residents, including changing beds and assisting with general housekeeping tasks
• Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance where required
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting dignity and respect at all times
• Assist with simple wound care and other nursing tasks under the direction of registered nurses
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and resident observations
• Follow all aged care regulations, policies and procedures to ensure resident safety and compliance
