Qualifications

• Certification as an Assistant in Nursing or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and toileting.
• Supporting nursing staff with clinical care tasks under their direction and supervision.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' conditions, health concerns or behaviours to nursing staff.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents across all care areas.
• Assisting with feeding and ensuring adequate nutrition and hydration for residents.
• Supporting residents with mobility, transferring and positioning using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Providing emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering positive relationships.
• Maintaining accurate and timely records as required by the facility.
• Following health and safety protocols, infection control procedures and relevant aged care regulations.
• Collaborating with the wider care team to ensure coordinated, compassionate resident care.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant in Nursing (Casual) to join the care team at Christadelphian Aged Care in Gladesville, NSW. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of our aged care residents. As an Assistant in Nursing, you will provide essential support to our nursing and care staff, working in a collaborative environment that values person-centred care and dignity for all residents. This role is integral to ensuring our residents receive high-quality support with their daily living needs and maintaining a safe, comfortable care environment.

What we're looking for

• Certification as an Assistant in Nursing or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia


• Current First Aid and CPR certification


• Working with Children Check (WWC) or willingness to obtain one


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with residents, families and staff


• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks safely


• Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and respect for resident dignity and independence


• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility to work casual shifts as required


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment


• Awareness of and commitment to infection control and health and safety practices


• Prior experience in aged care, disability support or healthcare settings is highly valued
