Job summary

Mercure Gold Coast Resort on the Gold Coast is seeking a highly motivated assistant financial controller for a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will supervise the Finance team in daily operations and handle payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cashiering.

You will develop and monitor financial systems, improve processes to boost profitability, maintain internal controls, and prepare monthly accounts.

Qualifications

• Experience as AFC/Senior Accountant and leading a finance team.
• Ability to train and develop team members.
• Strong time management for high-volume workload.
• Composure under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

What you'll be doing:

We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced assistant financial controller to join the team on a fixed term 9-month contract. Responsibilities will include:

• Supervising the Finance team in daily operations
• Supporting with Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cashiering.
• Developing and monitoring all financial systems
• Improve systems and processes to enhance each department’s profitability.
• Maintaining internal controls, credit limits and compliance
• Preparing accurate and timely monthly accounts
• Assist with completing monthly financial statements
• Providing financial advice and support to management

Qualifications

What you'll bring to the role:

• Previous experience as an AFC/Senior Accountant
• Proven ability to train and develop team members
• Ability to effectively time manage large volume work load
• Able to maintain calm composure while working under tight deadlines
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• High level of interpersonal & communication skills
• Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable, however not essential)
