Job summary

Novotel Brisbane South Bank is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to support the Financial Controller in driving the hotel's financial performance and providing timely guidance to department leaders.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and internal controls, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and developing the finance team within Accor's hospitality standards. This role offers exposure to award-winning service culture and opportunities for professional growth.

Job Description

The Assistant Financial Controller works with the support of the Financial Controller to oversea the hotel's financial performance, and provide other department leaders with accurate and timely consultation on how to optimise financial performance. The primary responsibilities of the role include:

• Support in management of budgeting, planning, and forecasting for the hotel, including analysis and reporting for monthly and yearly results.
• Monthly analysis and reporting of results, forecast, and P&L.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory systems and standards.
• Provide appropriate training to hotel leaders & the finance team to ensure accuracy and financial integrity at all levels.

Qualifications

This role requires a specialised skill set, you must be able to demonstrate competence and expertise in financial processes of a hotels operations. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

• Significant experience using hotel systems: Opera, Micros, Sun, PurchasePlus, Ready Workforce, Currency Select, Online Banking portals, and others as deemed necessary to support the performance of the hotel.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide analytical commentary.
• Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
