Job summary

Suncorp Group is seeking an Assistant Financial Control Accountant in Australia to support month-end close, reconciliations and general ledger accuracy within a large financial services environment. This permanent full-time role can be based in Brisbane or Sydney.

You will work hands-on across month-end close activities, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and controls, contributing to accurate financial reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• 2+ years' experience in a junior accounting, assistant accountant or similar role.
• Experience with reconciliations, journals and month-end processes.
• Solid understanding of general ledger and accounting principles.
• High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
• Strong Excel capability.
• Exposure to Oracle or similar system (desirable).
• CA/CPA studies commenced or willingness to commence (desirable).
• Structured, methodical approach with strong accountability for outcomes.
• Curiosity for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve ledger and reconciliation issues.

Join our Finance & Advice team as an Assistant Financial Control Accountant, supporting the integrity and accuracy of financial records across the Group.

This role is a permanent full-time role open to applicants in Brisbane or Sydney.

This is a hands-on accounting role focused on month-end close, reconciliations and general ledger accuracy within a large, complex financial services environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial information is complete, accurate and compliant.
