Job summary

Suncorp’s Finance & Advice team seeks an Assistant Financial Control Accountant to support month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and general ledger accuracy in a large financial services setting. Role involves journal entries and reconciliation tasks across the group.

The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting and 2+ years in junior accounting, with exposure to reconciliations, GL, and ideally Oracle. A structured, proactive approach is valued.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
  • 2+ years' experience in a junior accounting, assistant accountant or similar role.
  • Experience with reconciliations, journals and month-end processes.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger and accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
  • Exposure to Oracle or similar system (desirable).
  • CA/CPA studies commenced or willingness to commence (desirable).
  • Structured, methodical approach with strong accountability for outcomes.
  • Curiosity for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve ledger and reconciliation issues.
  • Ensure financial transactions are correctly recorded in the general ledger.

Join our Finance & Advice team as an Assistant Financial Control Accountant.

This role is a permanent full-time role open to applicants in Brisbane or Sydney.

Join our Finance & Advice team as an Assistant Financial Control Accountant, supporting the integrity and accuracy of financial records across the Group.

This is a hands-on accounting role focused on month-end close, reconciliations and general ledger accuracy within a large, complex financial services environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial information is complete, accurate and compliant.

What you’ll do
