Are you looking for a varied role where you can make a meaningful contribution while developing your administrative and organisational skills?Parliamentary Services is seeking a professional, organised and community-minded Assistant Electorate Officer to join the Burnett Electorate Office. This role supports the Member and Electorate Officer in delivering high-quality services to constituents, managing office administration, and assisting with community engagement activities across the electorate.Key ObjectivesProvide high-quality administrative and support services to the Electorate Office.Assist constituents by responding to enquiries and helping resolve concerns.Support the efficient day-to-day operations of the electorate office.Maintain accurate records and financial administration processes.Contribute to community engagement and communication activities.Your RoleRespond to constituent enquiries via phone, email and in person, providing timely and professional assistance.Manage and track constituent correspondence, ensuring enquiries are recorded and actioned appropriately.Provide administrative support including data entry, record keeping, filing and document management.Assist with financial administration, including processing invoices, reconciling expenditure and maintaining financial records in accordance with Parliamentary Services requirements.Maintain accurate databases and office systems.Assist with diary management, scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings.Prepare correspondence, reports and briefing materials as required.Support the delivery of community engagement activities, including events, meetings and stakeholder visits.Assist with the preparation and distribution of e-newsletters and other community communications.Monitor and maintain office supplies and general administrative systems.Build positive relationships with constituents, community organisations and key stakeholders.Provide general support to the Member and Electorate Officer as required.What We're Looking ForStrong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with a diverse range of people.Excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills.Experience in finance, bookkeeping, accounts administration or a related area would be highly regarded.High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry and financial record keeping.Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.Strong computer literacy and confidence using a range of digital systems and Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and demonstrate initiative.Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.Commitment to the Parliamentary Service values of Innovation, Learning, Integrity, Clients and People.How to ApplyIf you are organised, community-minded and enjoy supporting people through excellent customer service and administration, we encourage you to apply.Submit your application via the SmartJobs website, including your resume and details of two professional referees.
