Job summary

The Department of Treasury and Finance's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) seeks an Assistant Director, Digital Experience Services to lead the delivery of secure digital products used by South Australians, including SA.GOV.AU, online transactions, the mySAGov app and digital identity services.

Based in Adelaide, you will lead a high-performing team across government, shaping user-focused services and driving continuous improvement, governance and budgets for digital programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the direction and continuous improvement of high-profile digital services that support millions of interactions between the SA community and government.
  • Drive the delivery of new features, enhancements and digital initiatives, ensuring services remain secure, reliable and responsive to user needs.
  • Lead a high-performing team of subject matter experts in web content and design, online forms, automation and workflows and mobile app development.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts and technology partners to shape practical solutions and achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Use data, insights and customer feedback to guide decision-making, measure success and improve the user experience across digital products.
  • Play a key leadership role in advancing the government's digital strategy, while overseeing service planning, governance, budgets and operational performance.
  • High-level interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build strong/constructive relationships and networks, both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in designing, building and implementing digital customer service technologies such as websites and mobile apps
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering customer-centred digital products that meet client needs and prioritise value.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with service design subject matter experts and applying critical analysis to user testing results to improve the user experience.
  • Proven ability to supervise a fast-paced team, exercising significant levels of initiative and decision making in complex environments to achieve the successful implementation of strategic objectives.
  • Experience in preparing an annual capital and operational budget.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics, EEO and cultural inclusion.
  • An understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 and ISO 31000:2018 risk management principles.

Job description

The Department of Treasury and Finance is the lead agency for economic, digital and financial policy outcomes, and plays a vital role in providing financial services to the community, and economic and fiscal policy advice as well as digital services to the Government of South Australia. The Department of Treasury and Finance actively promotes flexible working arrangements and values diversity in the workplace.

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) sits within the Department of Treasury and Finance and leads technology, digital and cyber security strategy across the South Australian Government. OCIO enables a more connected and secure government so that South Australian Government agencies can better serve the community. It develops and delivers resilient and innovative ICT, digital and cyber security services, platforms and critical infrastructure to SA Government agencies that are accessible, trusted and secure.

Digital Programs, in OCIO, empowers engagement between South Australians and the SA government by providing secure, seamless, and trusted digital products such as SA.GOV.AU, online transactions, the mySAGov app, and digital identity, which enable agencies to offer personalised, human-centric services that enhance interactions between individuals, businesses, and the government.

About the Opportunity

Lead a team at the centre of South Australia's digital services. As the Assistant Director, Digital Experience Services, you will lead the delivery of secure and reliable digital products used by the community every day, including SA.GOV.AU, online transactions, the mySAGov app and digital identity services. Working across government, you will help shape digital experiences that make it easier for people and businesses to access personalised, user-focused services.

Salary
SM2 - Salary Range $153,887 p.a.
Term
2-year fixed term contract
