Job summary

Selina Stanley Recruitment – Saint Kilda VIC is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to support the Centre Director in leading our early childhood team and maintaining quality, compliance and safety across operations.

You will coordinate staff documentation, inductions and rostering, conduct tours for families, and contribute to continuous improvement with strong leadership and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care required.
• Leadership experience within an early learning service is essential.
• Strong knowledge of NQF and EYLF; confidence with compliance and rating.
• Ability to coordinate documentation, rostering and inductions.
• Experience with OWNA is highly regarded.

About You

You are an experienced early childhood professional ready to bring confidence, initiative and strong organisational skills to a leadership position.

You’ll bring:

• Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Previous leadership experience within an early learning service.
• Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and EYLF.
• Confidence across compliance, documentation and Assessment & Rating.
• Experience with OWNA is highly regarded
• Strong pedagogical knowledge and the ability to support quality practice.
• A calm, organised and solutions‑focused approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The confidence to coach, guide and hold others accountable.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
• Current Working with Children Check.
