Job summary

Selina Stanley Recruitment – Saint Kilda VIC is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to support the Centre Director in leading our early childhood team and maintaining quality, compliance and safety across operations.

You will coordinate staff documentation, inductions and rostering, conduct tours for families, and contribute to continuous improvement with strong leadership and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care required.
• Leadership experience within an early learning service is essential.
• Strong knowledge of NQF and EYLF; confidence with compliance and rating.
• Ability to coordinate documentation, rostering and inductions.
• Experience with OWNA is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Centre Director in leading and developing the team.
• Maintaining strong quality and compliance practices.
• Supporting WHS, risk management and child safety requirements.
• Coordinating staff documentation, qualifications and compliance requirements.
• Leading staff inductions and onboarding.
• Conducting centre tours and supporting family enrolments.
• Contributing to the QIP and continuous improvement.
• Supporting rostering and day-to-day operations.
• Building strong relationships with educators, children and families.
• Modelling high-quality practice and supporting educators in their professional development.
