Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning Belair is hiring an Assistant Director to support the Centre Director in leading a dedicated team delivering high‑quality early learning and care for children. You will mentor staff, drive continuous improvement, and foster strong partnerships with families and the local community.

The role requires previous leadership experience in early childhood, a Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent, and a commitment to child safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in early childhood services.
• Experience in Assistant Director or centre leadership roles preferred.
• Must have or obtain a valid working with children check.
• Commitment to child safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Director in leading the team to deliver high‑quality early learning and care.
• Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team.
• Be responsible for overall centre management in the Centre Director’s absence.
• Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide.

Pay: $44.39 - $45.84 p/h depending on qualification and experience

Use your experience in early learning and work alongside our Centre Director to support our centre and team.

As the Assistant Director at Goodstart Belair, you'll leverage your expertise and leadership to inspire and motivate your centre team, driving continuous improvement across all areas of centre operations. Collaborate with our dedicated leadership team, forge respectful and reciprocal relationships with families, and actively engage with local community networks.

Responsibilities

Support the Centre Director in the leadership of the team to provide high-quality early learning and care.

Mentor and build capabilities within the centre team.

Be responsible for the overall management of the centre in the Centre Director’s absence.

Use and implement the Goodstart Practice Guide.

Qualifications

Previous experience as an Assistant Director or in a centre leadership position, or similar, is required.
