Job summary

YMCA Queensland is hiring an Assistant Coordinator for the Virginia Outside School Hours Care program on a permanent part-time basis. You will support the Coordinator with daily operations, lead programming, and guide a passionate team delivering safe, fun care for children.

As part of a not-for-profit with strong community ties, the role offers development opportunities, coaching, and flexible hours during school term with increases in vacation care.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or related ECEC/Teaching qualification (or studying towards).
• Demonstrated experience in children’s programming and administration.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid Paid Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Familiarity with the National Quality Framework.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily running of the service.
• Assist with child-led, play-based programming.
• Provide guidance to educators and support staffing needs.
• Maintain compliance and support administration processes.
• Engage positively with children, families, schools and the local community.
