Beverly Rooftop in South Yarra is seeking an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to oversee busy services, drive a premium cocktail program, and build a strong bar culture through training and consistent standards.

This hands-on leadership role requires a proven background in high-volume venues, exceptional organisation, and a passion for hospitality and guest experience. Full-time position based at Beverly Rooftop.

Formación

• Proven experience as a senior bartender / bar supervisor / assistant bar manager.
• Strong cocktail knowledge with technique, speed and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and calm problem-solving under pressure.

Responsabilidades

Assistant Bar Manager – Beverly Rooftop (South Yarra)

Beverly Rooftop is looking for an experienced Assistant Bar Managerwith a strong cocktail backgroundand a genuine passion for premium service. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on busy services, sets high standards, and knows how to build a strong bar culture through trainingand consistency.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the Bar Manager in the day-to-day running of the bar operation
• Managing stock control, ordering, & stocktake
• Leading from the front during service: speed, quality, composure, and guest engagement
• Delivering a high-level cocktail offering: classic execution + modern technique
• Driving cocktail consistency through recipes, specs, prep, garnish and service standards
• Training and mentoring bartenders and FOH team on cocktails, spirits, upselling and service
• Assisting with ordering, stock control, weekly stocktake, wastage control and par levels
• Helping manage rosters and break planning to keep the bar flowing
• Ensuring compliance across RSA, safety, cleanliness and equipment care
• Contributing to menu development, seasonal features and event activations

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a senior bartender / bar supervisor / assistant bar manager
• Strong cocktail knowledge is essential(balanced builds, technique, prep, speed + accuracy)
• Confident leading a team in a high-volume, premium venue
• Strong organisation and attention to detail (mise en place is non-negotiable)
• Great communication and a calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
• Passion for hospitality, guest experience, and building team culture
