Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking an Engineer Maintenance for its Pilbara operations in the town of Pannawonica. The role focuses on improving asset reliability and maintenance efficiency across critical site equipment, providing expert technical support to the maintenance team and engineering partners.

You will lead root cause investigations, propose durable corrective actions and help drive continuous improvement across maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience in mining, processing, or heavy industrial maintenance.
• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of asset management and maintenance processes.
• Experience using SAP or similar CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance teams across planning, prioritisation and execution of maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause investigations and equipment failure analysis to identify and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Review equipment performance and develop recommendations that improve reliability, maintainability and asset life.
• Lead and support continuous improvement, defect elimination and asset health initiatives across maintenance.
• Support work management processes, maintenance standards and quality assurance requirements.
• Develop repair scopes, evaluate risk and provide technical recommendations for asset recovery and improvement projects.
• Partner with planners, schedulers, engineers, OEMs and operational stakeholders to deliver maintenance outcomes.
• Manage or support site-based capital and improvement projects that enhance safety, reliability and operational performance.
