Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety, Victoria in Geelong is seeking an assessment and transition coordinator to help people prepare for life after prison. You will assess risks, support parole applications and coordinate transition services to enable safer reintegration into the community.

The role involves working with prisoners, prison staff and service providers, coordinating programs and maintaining records to support parole and transition outcomes.

Qualifications

• experience in, or an understanding of, working in a correctional environment.
• understanding the needs of people moving through prison and back into the community.
• understanding of transition and reintegration issues affecting people in custody.
• skills to use risk assessment tools with individual prisoners.
• ability to work with people who may be hard to work with.
• computer skills using programs such as Excel to manage data.

• You will help people build safer and more positive pathways after prison.
• Fixed-Term (until 24/08/2027), Full-Time role earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super.
