Job summary

The State of Victoria’s Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Assessment and Transition Coordinator in Geelong to help prepare people in custody for release. You will assess risks, support parole applications and coordinate transition services, while maintaining clear records and scheduling to support programs and parole applications.

You will work with prisoners, prison staff and service providers to implement transition plans and track progress, using risk assessment tools

Qualifications

  • Experience in, or understanding of, working in a correctional environment.
  • Understanding of transition and reintegration issues affecting people in custody.
  • Ability to use risk assessment tools with individual prisoners.
  • Computer skills using programs such as Excel to manage data.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate risk and needs assessments, parole applications and pre-release services.
  • Support case management reviews and help track each person's progress.
