Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking Assembly Operators for the MQ-28 Ghost Bat Production Facility at Wellcamp, Toowoomba, QLD. Join a high-performance team delivering advanced autonomous aircraft systems in a new production facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of airframe structures and sub-assemblies
• Work with advanced automation equipment including robots and NC machines
• Install wiring harnesses, avionics modules and mechanical systems per work instructions
• Carry out first article builds and conform to configuration control processes
• Use jigs, fixtures and tooling safely and accurately; support tooling and continuous improvement
• Conduct factory acceptance checks and assist with production tests
• Maintain high safety, quality and traceability standards in a defence environment
• Collaborate with engineers and Quality team to resolve issues and improve processes

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are looking for Assembly Operators to join the MQ-28 Ghost Bat Production Facility nearing construction completion at Wellcamp Toowoomba, QLD.

What you'll get to do:

• Perform precision assembly, fit-up, riveting, bonding and fastening of airframe structures and sub-assemblies.
• Work alongside advanced automation equipment, including robots and NC machines.
• Install and route wiring harnesses, avionics modules and mechanical systems per work instructions.
• Carry out first article builds, build sub-assemblies and conform to configuration control processes.
• Use jigs, fixtures and tooling safely and accurately; support tooling and continuous improvement.
• Conduct factory acceptance checks, functional tests and assist with production test activities.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and traceability in a regulated defence environment.
• Collaborate with engineers and the Quality team to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes.

Who we're looking for:

• Prior experience in production, aerospace or precision manufacturing industries is highly desirable, but not essential.
• Experienced in use of hand tools, power tools and common assembly equipment; experience with composites or riveting (solid/hi-loc) advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity and pride in doing high-quality work.
• Ability to read and follow technical work instructions, drawings and safety procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to work on shift rosters as required.
