Boeing Defence Australia is hiring a Tooling & Equipment Maintenance Technician for a Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport site. The role focuses on maintaining tooling to high standards, supporting safe and efficient production, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations.

Reporting to the Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Lead, you will operate autonomously in a matrix environment and cooperate with production, engineering, and safety teams to minimize disruptions and sustain asset

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fitters/machinist or maintenance fitter experience in aviation or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and asset management strategies.
• Experience working in a large matrix organization.
• Knowledge of production processes, regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining tooling and equipment management strategies to optimize production operations and safety.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of equipment and tooling across the facility.
• Coordinate with Production Leads and engineering teams to identify needs and implement changes for tooling.
• Manage receipting, inspections, storage and inventory for tooling and consumables.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with safety/compliance teams to ensure aviation regulations and policies are met.
• Carry out servicing and housekeeping routines to improve asset efficiency and reliability.

Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Technician (Toowoomba based role)

Boeing Defence Australia is hiring a Tooling & Equipment Maintenance Technician at our new production facility at Wellcamp Airport, Toowoomba. This role requires strong maintenance skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of inventory management and production processes. The Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Technician will ensure that equipment and tooling are maintained to the highest standards, meet regulatory requirements, and support efficient and safe production operations whilst minimizing disruptions to the production lines. Reporting to the Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Lead, this individual will be a trusted self-starter that can operate autonomously in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining our Equipment & Tooling management strategies and procedures to optimize production operations and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Oversee and carry out the maintenance and repair of Equipment & Tooling across the facility
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Production Leads and engineering teams, to identify facility needs and implement necessary changes or upgrades for Tooling.
• Manage receipting, inspections, storage and inventory management for all tooling and consumables
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Collaborate with the safety and compliance teams to ensure adherence to all relevant aviation regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Carry out regular servicing and housekeeping routines to optimize asset efficiency/ reliability

Experience/Qualifications

• Fitter & Machinist/Maintenance fitter (2+ years' experience)
• 2+ years' experience in an aviation, manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Strong general maintenance knowledge for tooling and understanding of preventative maintenance and asset management strategies
• Experience working in a large matrix organization
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing production processes, regulations, and safety standards
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making
• Experience dealing with key stakeholders and translating operational requirements into actionable deliverables
• Proficient with Inventory management systems highly regarded
• Experience with tool control systems, kitting and calibration programs highly regarded
