Boeing Defence Australia seeks a Tooling & Equipment Maintenance Technician for our new Wellcamp facility in Toowoomba, QLD. You will maintain tooling and equipment to the highest standards, support safe production, and work with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment under the Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Lead.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing equipment and tooling management strategies to optimise production operations.

• Coordinate with Production Leads and engineers to identify needs and upgrades for tooling.
• Manage receipting, inspections, storage and inventory management for tooling and consumables.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and corrective measures.
• Collaborate with safety/compliance to ensure aviation regulations and standards are met.

The opportunity Boeing Defence Australia is hiring a Tooling & Equipment Maintenance Technician at our new production facility at Wellcamp Airport, Toowoomba. This role requires strong maintenance skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of inventory management and production processes. The Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Technician will ensure that equipment and tooling are maintained to the highest standards, meet regulatory requirements, and support efficient and safe production operations whilst minimizing disruptions to the production lines. Reporting to the Equipment & Tooling Maintenance Lead, this individual will be a trusted self-starter that can operate autonomously in a matrix environment. Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and maintaining our Equipment & Tooling management strategies and procedures to optimize production operations and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Oversee and carry out the maintenance and repair of Equipment & Tooling across the facility.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as Production Leads and engineering teams, to identify facility needs and implement necessary changes or upgrades for Tooling.
• Manage receipting, inspections, storage and inventory management for all tooling and consumables.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Collaborate with the safety and compliance teams to ensure adherence to all relevant aviation regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Carry out regular servicing and housekeeping routines to optimize asset efficiency/reliability.

Experience / Qualifications

• Fitter & Machinist/Maintenance fitter (2+ years' experience)
• 2+ years' experience in an aviation, manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Strong general maintenance knowledge for tooling and understanding of preventative maintenance and asset management strategies.
• Experience working in a large matrix organization.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing production processes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making.
• Experience dealing with key stakeholders and translating operational requirements into actionable deliverables.
• Proficient with Inventory management systems highly regarded.
• Experience with tool control systems, kitting and calibration programs highly regarded.
