Job summary

ABB is expanding its Traction team in Maryborough, QLD, and seeks two Assemblers to support the QTMP project. You will assemble Traction Converters, interpret technical drawings, and operate machinery on a new Fraser Coast facility onsite.

You will perform manual and light-tool work, conduct quality checks, and maintain a clean production area in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Certificate II in Electrotechnology or Electrical Trade Qualified; crane, jib crane, platform, and forklift

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Electrotechnology or Electrical Trade required.
• Experience reading construction and electrical drawings.
• Experience in Loom Manufacture (including terminations) preferred.
• Strong teamwork and ability to follow instructions in a factory setting.
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment with heat, repetitive tasks, and standing/bending.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products.
• Operate machinery and equipment following established processes.
• Interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions to ensure quality.
• Carry out packing integrated with production lines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow SOPs.

Located at our new manufacturing facility on the Fraser Coast, this role offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology and contribute to the assembly of Traction Converters. You will support production targets by operating machinery and equipment, following established processes, and interpreting technical drawings and assembly instructions to deliver high-quality outcomes.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Traction division in Maryborough, QLD Main stakeholders are the Traction teams in Australia and Switzerland.You will be mainly accountable for:Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.Our team dynamicsYou will join a versatile, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.Qualifications for the rolePreferably holds Certificate II in Electrotechnology or Electrical Trade Qualified.Qualifications for operating cranes, jib cranes, platforms, and driving forklifts preferred (but not essential).Experience in mechanics, electrics, and/or automation, with ability to read construction and electrical drawings.Experience in Loom Manufacture (Including Terminations) is preferred (but not essential)Manual dexterity and analytical skills, along with the ability to learn and retain knowledge. Strong predisposition to work in a team environment.
