HR Partners is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join a busy asphalt crew in Cairns region. You will operate pavers, rollers, and skid steers, while contributing to manual tasks and site housekeeping. The role values safety, teamwork, and hands-on skill.

Ideal candidates hold a current driver’s licence and proven asphalt paving experience, with tickets for skid-steer or related equipment preferred. You’ll join a team focused on quality, continuous improvement, and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's Licence is mandatory.
• Proven background in asphalt paving operations.
• Ability to safely operate paving equipment.
• Tickets for Front-End Loader, Forklift, Bobcat, or Asphalt Paver preferred.
• Comfort with manual labour in hot outdoor environments.
• Strong safety mindset and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate pavers, steel/multi-rollers, and skid steers.
• Assist with manual labour such as raking, shovelling, sweeping, and ball spotting trucks.
• Monitor asphalt spread rates, depth, and surface texture for quality control.
• Perform pre-start checks, site clean-up, and routine maintenance.
