Job summary

Austek Roads Victoria is seeking an experienced Asphalt Crew Truck Operator/Machine Operator for immediate start at our Pakenham Depot, VIC. The role is fast paced, requiring a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work.

The ideal candidate will be physically able for heavy manual tasks, have good work ethic, be reliable, and have HR Licence. Duties include paving roads, assisting the crew, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• HR Licence held and valid.
• Reliable, hard working with safety mindset.
• Good communication and ability to liaise with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Carry out asphalting of roads and driveways.
• Assist crew with shovelling, raking, wheelbarrow, operating skid steer loader, rollers & asphalt plant as required.
• Ensure tools, fuel and equipment for asphalt laying are stocked on the crew truck.
• Role may develop with career growth.

Job description

Austek Roads (Victoria) are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Crew Truck Operator/ Machine Operator for immediate start out of our Pakenham Depot, VIC.

The position is fast paced and requires a can-do attitude with attention to detail. Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work.

The ideal candidate should have a good work ethic, be physically able to perform certain heavy manual tasks, have good communication skills.

Duties:

• Carry out asphalting of roads and driveways
• Assisting construction/paving crew with various duties such as; shovelling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely operating skid steer loader, rollers & asphalt plant as required.
• Ensure tools, fuel and equipment for asphalt laying is fully stocked on crew truck.
• Your role & responsibilities may increase as your career develops.

Key requirements:

• Must be reliable and hard working
• Experienced in Quarry and Asphalt an advantage
• Must have HR Licence
• Proven work history of driving experience
• Ability to perform day to day duties with a professional safety mindset
• Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
• Punctual, honest and reliable
• Willing to undertake pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing
