Job summary

State Asphalt Services Pty in NSW is seeking an Asphalt Crew member to join our team on a permanent basis. The role covers Sydney metro, Greater Sydney and regional NSW, with flexible hours including weekends or night work.

You will assist the paving crew with raking, shoveling and compacting asphalt, prepare sites, operate small tools and mobile plant where licensed, and uphold safety standards. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Experience in road construction is desirable but not essential.
• General Construction Induction Card – White Card is required.
• VOC tickets would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the asphalt paving crew with manual labour tasks such as raking, shoveling and compacting asphalt
• Preparing the worksite by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers and signage
• Operating small equipment and hand tools required for asphalt work
• Operating mobile plant such as asphalt pavers, roller, bobcat (where licenced and skilled)
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment throughout the project
• Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe worksite

We are seeking enthusiastic and hardworking Asphalt Crew member to join our team at State Asphalt Services Pty in NSW.

The role is:

A permanent role.

Need to be able to work flexible hours with weekend or night work (Sunday - Thursday) and potential rural travel as necessary to meet client requirements.

Available for immediate commencement.

Works will be across the Sydney metro, Greater Sydney areas and regional NSW.

What you'll be doing

What we're looking for

• Strong physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of manual labour work
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills on the job
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• A valid MR truck license - desirable but not essential
• Previous experience and demonstrated competency working within the road construction industry is desirable but not essential.

• Possess a strong commitment to safety.
