Job summary

Austek Roads is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Asphalt Crew Truck Operator/Machine Operator to join our crew based out of Luscombe, QLD. You will play a crucial role in supporting our asphalt paving operations, contributing to the successful delivery of vital infrastructure projects across the region.

Join Austek Roads to perform asphalt construction duties, operate tools, and assist with loading and maintaining equipment while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• White Card / Construction Card required.
• A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation; HR/MR Licence desirable.
• Plant & Machinery Tickets and VOCs desirable.
• Experience as an Asphalt Crew Member.
• Familiarity with operation and maintenance of asphalt paving equipment.
• Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform asphalt construction duties as directed by the Crew Leader or Supervisor.
• Operate hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Carry out road preparation, asphalt placement, compaction, profiling and general labouring duties as required.
• Assist with loading, unloading and handling materials, tools and equipment.
• Maintain allocated equipment, tools and work areas in a clean, safe and serviceable condition, and promptly report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Carry out daily pre-start inspections and complete all required inspections and documentation.
• Adhering to all relevant health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
